Holly Hilton

Holly Hilton received her law degree from The National Law Center at The George Washington University and was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1987. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the School of Government and Business Administration of The George Washington University in 1981. Since opening her law firm in 2006, she has focused on elder law, estate planning, probate and property issues. Her experience includes:

Holly's preferences and experience lie in handling cases that involve personal issues that affect the quality of her clients' lives, such as their legacies to their heirs, planning for long term care, resolving physical and mental capacity issues in the legal context, organizing their great ideas into viable businesses, and protecting their treasured property both through trust development and litigating challenges to property claims. She divides her time between her Charlottesville and Orange offices.

Holly has served as a trained mediator, and is committed to approaching the opposite side of a case in an effort to negotiate a result that is satisfactory to all, and that takes practical and financial issues into account. She served on the Board of Directors for Piedmont Dispute Resolution Center for eight years, and held positions of Secretary and Vice President on the Board.

Holly's role as a wife and mother of three children ages 17 - 24 is her most treasured role. The L-rd and her family, including her five pets, are her passion and her joy. The beauty and peace of living in Madison County, enjoying the community, and hosting a home group of Messianic Jewish believers there are counted among her many blessings.

Holly appreciates her clients and thoroughly enjoys relating to them and serving them. She is the Vice Chair of the Aging in Place Business Roundtable at the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce and has a network of friends and associates in that group that she trusts implicity and enjoys immensely. She also serves the Charlottesville community as President of the Board of Directors of the Youth Orchestras of Central Virginia.

Doug Hilton, Of Counsel

Doug Hilton is an experienced, multi-faceted attorney. He was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1987, as a National Law Center (The George Washington University Law School) graduate with honors, and received a Bachelors of Science in political science from The George Washington University in 1981. His career has taken two varied paths; he is a highly respected Associate General Counsel at the Corporation for National and Community and Service (CNCS), and has fifteen years of related experience with the General Accounting Office as Assistant and then Associate General Counsel, and as Counsel to the Inspector General of CNCS. He has done a wide variety of legal work for such agencies, but has focussed on legislation and appropriations in his federal government positions, including testifying on Capitol Hill in support of the legislation he has drafted.

Additionally, Doug has years of general practice experience in which he has handled countless property, landlord/tenant ,and commercial and consumer cases in his own practice, with Rappahannock Legal Services, and with Button Yeaman and Associates. Bob Yeaman of Button Yeaman and Associates referred to Doug as "the best partition suit litigator in the Culpeper area." Doug likewise impressed the Executive Director at Rappahannock Legal Services within his first few months by winning a case in the Virginia Court of Appeals, and that case was later published for its legal significance. His versatility and superlative analytical abilities are invaluable assets to the law firm. Doug holds a full time position at the CNCS, but is available for counsel and assistance on all cases. Doug Hilton is married to the principal owner of the law firm, Holly Hilton, and they enjoy sharing their home life and their careers with one another.
